Privacy policy
How we handle your personal data.
Last updated: July 2026
This policy explains how scottishairways.com (“we”, “us”) collects and uses information when you use this Site, in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. We are the data controller for the limited data described below. By using the Site you acknowledge this policy; it should be read alongside our terms of use and cookie policy.
What we collect
- Usage analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand which pages are popular and how the Site performs. This typically involves cookies or similar identifiers and data such as pages viewed, approximate location (derived from IP, which Google truncates), device and browser type. We do not use it to identify you by name.
- Outbound-click events: when you use a search widget or click an affiliate link, we log the action, the route and the page (not who you are) to measure which searches are useful. We also pass a standard event to our advertising tools to measure the performance of any advertising we run.
- Anything you choose to send us: if you contact us or submit a form, we process the details you provide in order to respond.
- Technical logs: our hosting and content-delivery providers automatically process request data (such as IP address and user agent) to deliver and secure the Site.
Legal bases
We rely on your consent for non-essential analytics and advertising cookies, and on our legitimate interests (running, securing, measuring and improving the Site) for essential technical processing and aggregate measurement. You can withdraw consent at any time via your browser or cookie controls.
Third parties and processors
We do not sell your personal data. We use a small number of reputable providers to run the Site, each with their own privacy terms:
- Google (Analytics and Ads) for measurement and advertising.
- Travelpayouts and its booking partners (for example Aviasales, Booking.com and tour providers) for the flight, hotel, car-hire and tour search tools and affiliate links.
- Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting) and Cloudflare (media delivery) as infrastructure providers.
When you search or click to book, you are handed to a third-party partner who becomes responsible for the data you give them under their own privacy policy. Please review the policy of any site you are taken to; we are not responsible for their practices.
International transfers
Some providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on their use of appropriate safeguards (such as UK-approved transfer mechanisms and standard contractual clauses).
Retention
We keep analytics and click data only for as long as needed to measure and improve the Site, after which it is deleted or aggregated so it no longer identifies anyone.
Your rights
Under UK data-protection law you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the details provided on the Site.
Children
This Site is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time by revising this page. Your continued use of the Site after any change indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
