Islay Airport

Islay Airport (ILY), also known as Glenegedale, sits about five miles north-northwest of Port Ellen in the heart of the whisky island. Owned and operated by Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (HIAL), it has a paved runway and handles scheduled flights, air ambulance work and general aviation for one of the most visited islands in the Inner Hebrides.

Loganair links Islay with Glasgow year round in about 40 minutes, the island's main air connection to the mainland, with a once-weekly Hebridean Air Services link to Oban and Colonsay. For most travellers the airport is the fast alternative to the long drive to Kennacraig and the CalMac ferry, and the natural gateway to Islay's eleven-plus whisky distilleries.
